Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse (3-10)
Having a child you love suffer sexual abuse or other victimization is traumatic. But at JJPI, we want you to know that there is life beyond the trauma. Healing is possible – for your child and your family. At JJPI, we engage the individual and the family in a relational process to build understanding and trust, explain treatment methods, and work together with the non-offending caregivers and family members to heal.
For this vulnerable population, we provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recognized evidence-based treatment. TF-CBT helps children and their families who suffer trauma due to sexual violence or other experiences heal quickly and effectively. Psychiatric care is available as needed.
The Joseph J. Peters Institute offers reunification services to families, as appropriate, where there has been sexual abuse between children living in the same home.
